In April I will be walking in the National Multiple Sclerosis Society's walk. Check out my web site to learn more about my inspiration for this walk (my friend Vern) and to get involved. If you want to walk with us, let me know. We'd love to have more people joining us.

This week has been quite a challenge. We started last Wednesday with me arrive to my meeting and learning the woman who had all the information for my new job in her head, was not coming because she was at the hospital having an emergency c-section. Normally I would say. no prob. I can get the info later...except I have a meeting tomorrow with about 100 students and she had all the manuals, spreadsheets, Powerpoint presentations, etc that are needed.

Then Eric returned Thursday, making us all rejoyce until he fell down the stairs......

Then on Saturday morning I checked my voice mail and learned a good friends unborn baby has fluid on his lungs.

Yesterday my colleague emails me the documents and informs me that food was never ordered. She planned to go to Costco...wanna guess who is going tomorrow before the meeting? I planned to go in and work on the documents today (needed data that is only located on the K drive)when Eric reminded me that Best Buy was coming to fix his new TV.

With all this whirling in my head, I was unable to fall asleep last night. Finally fell asleep at about 2:30am which meant I overslept this morning. I jump up and rush the girls to get ready so I can drive Bella to school. Then I slip and fall down the same steps as Eric. Luckily I was not holding a child like he was, but manage to wrench my neck and shoulder as I grabbed the railing trying to stop my decline.

Then Best Buy calls and tells me they will be at my house between 11 and 1pm. (A decent size window, but smack in the middle of the day) Thank goodness for my wonderful father. He came over and took Alyssa back to his house so that once the Best Buy guy replaced the motor in the tv (never knew there was a motor in there) I could take off for JHU.

I arrive, only to learn my passwords don't work and there is NO ONE on campus can help me. Oh did I mention I had already spent the morning trying to get my email set up, but according to HR I still don't exist?

After 45 minutes, I finally get into the slowest machine I have used in ages, and start working, only to learn I have way more than the hour or so of work I thought I had to do. I finish what I can, pick Bella up, take her to my Dad and head back to the office until almost 8pm.

The only good thing today, which was really good, was I learned that the University of Maryland System at Shady Grove accepted my proposal for some contract work (first proposal I ever had to write...Thanks Eric and my big bro)It means that starting in Feb I will be working about 30-35 hours a week. I am very excited.

Keep your fingers crossed that my meeting goes well tomorrow and life proceeds happily, even if peaceful is not possible.

Whose bright idea is it that every year we are supposed to send pictures of our adorable little brats along with our holiday cards!!??! More importantly, why do _I_ care????

We just wasted an evening at Montgomery Mall. I stopped using JC Penny's because I found their customer service...okay at best, and their technology horrible. They were the best as far as price, but not worth the rest.

This past year we started using the Picture People. They have gotten some great pictures of the kids. Tonight we go in after fighting with Bella for over an hour about her outfit (I fought for about 40 minutes and once we finally agreed, Eric came home and vetoed our compromise...hence another 30-40 minute argument with me panicing that she would be completely tear stained by time we got to the studio.) We arrive on time and start to get the kids ready.(ie quick change into their "outfits"). Once Alyssa is dressed and looking beyond adorable, we wait!!!!! The flipping photographer went off to take someone elses photo. She comes back and tries to get us to pose the kids. Well Bella is all for it, but Alyssa is scared by the camera and only wants Mommy and Daddy...And the big cars they keep in the back room that she KNOWS are there. After we show her that the cars are gone, she still wants no part of the photo shoot. We tried for 1/2 and hour and she was having none of it. There were about 4 chances for great shots, but the camera operator obvious did not see them like I did, because she totally failed to capture them.

We finally gave up and went to get dinner. Before we left, we changed the kids back into street clothes. While we were gathering up our stuff Alyssa walked over to the spot in front of the camera, pointed at it, and gave a great big grin, saying "Cheeeeeeese!!!"!!!!!! ARGH!!!

Tomorrow the girls and I are going back to try again. Why do I care? Why do i feel this need to get my cards out before Chanukkah ends? Why do I send almost 150 cards out each year? Why don't other people seem to care about making contact with friends and family at this time of year as much as I do? Why does a simple piece of cards stock/ photo paper mean so much to me to receive via snail mail?

Hope you are all having a better day than me.

Every time I try to upload a pic, the system freezes. At this point I would be happy with a fun one, rather than me. Where do you all get the variety of pics you have??? Like how the heck does Smilie have a new one with every posting?

Any help is appreciated

I am working on a charity project for my Temple. If any of you Knit, Crochet, or Quilt and have some spare time and/or spare yarn, please let me know.
We are making infant blankets to donate. The blankets should be about 32-36 inches square. If you could provide even one, I would be so appreciative.

While I know many people don't love Oprah, and I think she can get preachy, I was very happy by her favorite gifts show this year. She/Bank of America gave every audience member $1000 and loaned them a video camera. They were asked to take the money and spend it on anyone else. (And tape it for the show of course) In other words...Pay it Forward (Remember the movie?) Well, the things people did were amazing. I am hoping to get more involved with charity work myself so don't be surprised to hear me asking for time, money and help in the future. If you have it to give (time, more or help) please do. If you don't, then please don't. I will not be upset, angry, annoyed or disappointed if you simply ignore my requests or say no. Please don't think I am trying to push my wishes on any of you.

I am only offering opportunities to help other.

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

A great miracle happened here. I finally created an LJ. I figure Eric will be completely shocked.

I have no idea if I will have the time to maintain it, but one never knows.
